Merry Xmas
Have a wonderful festive season. Enjoy and relax.
Here’s a few hints on how to make it through the festive season
Drink Water
Whether you’re out at a party or just lazing on the beach then summer is a time to drink lots of water.
If you’re out at a party having alcoholic drinks then make sure you have a water once in a while as the alcohol will dehydrate you and add to a very sad hangover the next day. When you do get home have 2 big glasses of water to stay hydrated and help metabolise the alcohol.
Make-up made easy
In the summer it is a great investment to have your eyelashes tinted. Go for brown if you are a Spring or Autumn and Blue -Black if you are a Summer or Winter. Even when you are swimming you will have beautifully framed eyes! Put on your sunscreen and top off with a coat of coloured lipgloss on your lips. Pull your hair back in a pony tail or with a hairclip- you can even leave your conditioner in for a day to treat your hair. Throw on a kaftan top, a little beach dress or sarong and your slides and you are done. What a great beach look!
Hair protection
The sun, chlorine and salt water can do a lot of damage to your hair. There are many ways to prevent damage. There are many styling products that have a UV filters- hair sprays, styling creams etc.. For those who have coloured hair these are important so you maintain your colour between salon visits. If you have your hair dyed blonde then it may turn more gold in the sun so be sure to invest in colour specific shampoo which is purple (the actual shampoo is purple in colour). This will soften the brassyness.
For a simple treatment leave your conditioner in your hair and sleek it back in a pony tail or secure it with a clip. Go to the beach and then rinse it out at the end of the day. The heat will assit in the treatment and your hair will be lovely and soft the next day.
If your hair is in poor coniditon- split ends and very brittle- then don’t kid yourdelf any longer- the sun and the beach will only make things worse. Go and have a good trim. Slightly shoter but healthy hair is far more attractive than brittle fly away long hair that doesn’t keep it’s style.
Relax on Xmas Day
For those of you who celebrate Xmas in all it’s glory remember that all the shopping, cooking and cleaning is really meant to make a great day. Take time in the day you pour yourself your favourite drink- a cup of tea, a glass of bubbly or something stronger and soak up the atmosphere. Don’t do anything taxing while you have that one special drink so you can concentrate on what xmas really feels like.
And for all those women who feel the need to provide on Xmas day- remeber to accept help! When someone offers to cook something or wash the dishes or take away the plates- let them. Providing the ‘picture perfect’ xmas is one thing- being a part of it is the true memory.
If you’re a parent then always have extra batteries- the kids will be so upset if their favorite toy doesn’t work.
